Shawn Rodrigue-Lemieux is a Canadian chess grandmaster, born in 2004, and the youngest grandmaster in the history of Quebec. He learned the game at six in an after-school program, winning five straight games in his first event, and passed a 2000 FIDE rating by the age of twelve. He became an International Master at eighteen and completed his Grandmaster requirements at nineteen, receiving the title officially in January 2024.
His breakthrough result came at the 2022 Charlotte Chess Center IM Norm Invitational, where he achieved a perfect 9/9 score with a performance rating of 3037 - a result that drew wide attention in the chess world. That same year he became World Youth Champion in the under-18 section, winning the 2022 World Under 18 Chess Championship.
