Maxim Rodshtein is an Israeli chess player who earned the title of Grandmaster in 2007. He was born on 19 January 1989 in Leningrad, USSR. He has made numerous top-three finishes in major international chess tournaments and represented Israel several times in the Chess Olympiad and the European Team Chess Championships.
Rodshtein won the European Youth Chess Championship for the category U16 in 2004. In 2007 he came first in the Vlissingen Open. He also won first place in the 2010/2011 Hastings Masters tournament. He achieved shared second place at the 2013/2014 Israeli Chess Championship, won the Israeli Championship in 2014 and the Politiken Cup in 2016.
He has also contributed to team championships. In the Chess Olympiad, Rodshtein has represented Israel in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2016 and 2018. His contributions have helped the Israeli team achieve a number of top-ten finishes. He represented Israel twice in the European Team Chess Championships, in 2011 and 2017, where the Israeli team finished in the top ten both times.
