Vladimir Romanenko is a chess grandmaster from Belarus. Born on June 27, 1962, he gained the title of International Grandmaster (GM) in 1991. Romanenko competed in the FIDE World Chess Championship in 2004, but did not win.
Throughout his career, Romanenko achieved other notable accomplishments. In 2001, he won the Jūrmala Chess Festival. In 2003, he shared first place at the Artic Chess Challenge in Tromsø alongside Alexander Moiseenko.
Romanenko was also an accomplished team player and represented his country in various tournaments. He played for Belarus in the Chess Olympiad five times (1992–2000) and in the World Team Chess Championship in 1997.
