Alexander Rustemov is a German chess Grandmaster. He was born on November 25, 1973, in Moscow, Russia, and achieved the Grandmaster title in 1998. He has competed in several international competitions, including the Chess World Cup and the European Team Chess Championships.
Rustemov's best performance was at the European Club Cup in 2003, where he scored 5/7 points. He also had a strong performance in 2007, sharing first place at the Bavarian Championship and winning the LGA-Nuremberg tournament. He played for the Germany national team in three European Team Chess Championships (2003, 2005, 2007).
Rustemov has also contributed to the field of computer chess. He helped develop Freddy 4, an experimental chess program, and assisted in the preparation of the chess engines, Hydra and Deep Fritz.
