Ulvi Sadikhov is an international Chess Grandmaster (GM) born in Azerbaijan on October 29, 1993. He began to learn chess at the age of seven today, he is among the leading figures in the field. He has won chess matches in many countries, like Armenia, Turkey, Russia, Spain, Germany, France, Greece, Iran, among others.
Sadikhov earned the title of International Master in 2008 and then Grandmaster in 2012. At present, he is coached by GM Eltaj Safarli, a prominent figure in chess and a grandmaster too. Sadikhov's parents have been consistent pillars of support throughout his chess journey - his mother, Nargiz Sadikhova, inspired him to learn chess and start a career in this field.
His performance in 2019 attracted public attention after his victories in 2nd Sharjah Masters tournaments and Aeroflot Open in Russia. He also triumphed in the international chess tournament - Azerbaijan Championship among adults which took place in Nakhchivan.
Ulvi Sadikhov also boasts of four gold medals in national championships, two gold medals in European Championships, and one silver medal in the World Championship. Apart from his illustrious chess career, Sadikhov is also a graduate of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports.
