Pablo Salinas Herrera is a Chilean chess Grandmaster and a FIDE Trainer. He was born in Santiago, Chile, on October 10, 1990. He is the first Chilean chess player to attain the grandmaster (GM) norm. Herrera also received the title of International Master (IM) in 2009. Throughout his career, he participated in various chess championships and tournaments.


In 2007, at the age of 16, Herrera won the Chilean Chess Championship, making him the youngest player to achieve this. He also represented Chile in four Chess Olympiad tournaments starting in 2008, as well as the Pan American Team Chess Championship in 2013.


He earned the International Master title in 2009 after winning the Zonal 2.5 tournament in Santiago. He achieved the Grandmaster title in 2018, becoming the first Chilean to do so.


Herrera has also competed in multiple World Youth Chess Championships, ranking 8th in 2006 and 2007. He also participated in the World Junior Chess Championships, placing 9th in 2008. Additionally, he won the Absolute Chilean Championship title six times.
