Miodrag R. Savić is a chess Grandmaster from Yugoslavia, born on 21 January 1940. He was active in his chess career from 1965 to 1992. He made significant achievements in various tournaments during his career. Savić won his first championship in Vršac in 1965.
In 1967, he took third place in Netanya, Israel and won the Capablanca Memorial Tournament in Havana in 1968. He won the Yugoslav Chess Championship in 1973 along with Aleksandar Matanović. He also won the traditional Bosna tournament in Sarajevo twice, in 1974 and 1977 and has performed well in numerous other tournaments.
The title of International Chess Master was awarded to Savić in 1967, followed by the Grandmaster title in 1976.
During the 1980s, Savić moved to Spain where he continued his chess career, participating in several tournaments in Spain and Portugal. He ended his career as an active chess player in 1992.
