Narek Seferjan is an Armenian chess player who has been a Grandmaster since 1995. He was born in Yerevan, Armenia, on 11th February 1978. Seferjan won the Armenian Chess Championship in 1995 and 1999. He has also represented Armenia in the Chess Olympiad.


Seferjan started his professional career in Armenia. He began making significant achievements at a young age, including when he won the U16 Armenian championship in 1988. He continued his success by winning the same division in 1990, 1992, and 1993.


In 1994, he showed his potential talent by finishing in fourth place at the World U16 Championship. A year later, he won the Armenian Chess Championship for the first time. He competed in the World Junior Chess Championship in 1996, finishing 14th.


Seferjan moved to Macedonia in 2002. He continued his success in the new environment by winning the Macedonian Chess Championship in 2005 and 2007. He has represented FIDE's Macedonia division since 2007.



Seferjan is known for his aggressive style, which is characterized by sharp, tactical play. He is also known for employing diverse opening systems.
