Enrico Sevillano is an American-Filipino chess Grandmaster and a prominent figure in international competitive chess. Born in Toledo City, Cebu, Philippines in 1959, he did not move to the U.S. until 2004. Sevillano developed a passion for chess from a young age, eventually deciding to pursue it professionally as a teenager. He went on to win numerous championships, with notable victories in the Filipino National Championships in 1981 and 1984. He became an International Master in 1987, followed by a win at the Asian Zonal Championship, which made him eligible to play in the World Championship Interzonal stage.

Sevillano then moved to the U.S., receiving his American citizenship in 2009. His continued success in the sport led to his promotion to Grandmaster in 2007. In the same year, he tied for first place with IM Ricardo De Guzman and GM Varuzhan Akobian in the U.S. Open Chess Championship in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and won the Pacific Southwest Open. In 2013, he tied for first in the National Open in Las Vegas. He repeated this achievement in the National Open in 2017.

Since then, Sevillano has continued to compete and achieve success on both national and global stages. He mainly competes in tournaments throughout California and Nevada. His career as a professional chess player is complemented by his commitment to educating younger generations about the sport, as he also works as a chess coach.
