Konstantine Shanava is a Georgian Chess Grandmaster who was awarded the Grandmaster title on 30 July 2008. He was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, on 5 June 1985. His peak world ranking was 145th, which he attained in January 2008.
In 2005, he won the Georgian Chess Championship. In 2006, he represented Georgia in the 37th Chess Olympiad, where he scored 6 points from 9 games.
In 2007, he won the powerful Zonal tournament in Alushta, which qualified him for the Chess World Cup 2007. However, he was eliminated in the first round.
Furthermore, he also competed in other renowned chess events such as the European Championships and the World Blitz Championship. He played for the Georgian national team during the European Team Chess Championship in Novi Sad, Serbia, in 2009.
