Monika Soćko (Dengler) is a Polish chess Grandmaster. Born in Warsaw on 24 March 1978, she has achieved remarkable success in her career, holding the title of International Master (IM) since 1998 and the Grandmaster (GM) title since 2008. She is a five-time Polish women's champion (1995, 2004, 2008, 2010, 2013) and has represented Poland in 12 Chess Olympiads from 1994-2018, where Poland won the Women's section in 2005.
Monika is married to Grandmaster Bartosz Soćko and they have two children. She is also the recipient of the Silver Cross of Merit, bestowed upon her by the President of Poland in 2005.
Soćko is also known for her advocacy for women's rights in chess, namely in preventing gender discrimination, and encouraging more girls to take up and pursue the game.
