GM Ram Soffer

Ram Soffer is an Israeli chess Grandmaster. He was born in Haifa, Israel on 22nd September 1965, which is also where he attended a championship for the Israel Youth Chess Championships and came in fifth place in the U20 category. He also competed in the Israeli Chess Championship where he was a finalist seven times. His chess success continued and Soffer became an International Master in 1987 before being awarded the Grandmaster title in 1990. Soffer is a trainer at the Ashdod Chess Club and has contributed to the development of various Israeli chess players. He also taught Alon Greenfeld who went on to become a grandmaster.
