Yuri Solodovnichenko is a Ukrainian chess Grandmaster and two-time Ukrainian Chess Champion. He was born on July 19, 1978 in Ukraine.
Solodovnichenko became an International Master in 1999 and was awarded the Grandmaster title in 2001. He won the Ukrainian Chess Championship in 2004 and 2008. Additionally, he won the Kavala Open in Greece in 2002, the Ashdod Chess Festival in Israel in 2014 as well as the Hoogeveen Open in Netherlands in 2014.
He has also demonstrated successful play during team level contests, including in the Ukrainian Team Chess Championship where he won in 2012 and 2013 with the team PGMB Chernigiv. He also competed in European Club Cups in 2003 and 2011.
