GM Raymond Song

Raymond Song is an Australian chess player who acquired the title of International Master in 2008. Song was the inaugural Australian Junior Champion in 2006, and in consecutive years he also got the titles of the World Under 16 and Commonwealth Under 20 Chess Champion, both in 2007. He was previously ranked 14th in the world for players under the age of 16, was Australia's youngest FIDE Master, and was ranked 2nd in Australia for players under the age of 20. Song obtained his bachelor's degree in medical science from the University of New South Wales, and is also focused towards his career outside chess. Besides, he remains a well-known figure in Australian chess.
