Aydin Suleymanli is an Azerbaijani chess player who became a Grandmaster in 2020 and is currently one of the top ranked players in the world. He was born on 29 August 2005 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
In 2019, Suleymanli won the World Youth Chess Championship in the under-14 category, held in Mumbai. Suleymanli participated in the Aeroflot Open in Moscow in February 2020, where he drew with top-seeded Indian grandmaster Vidit Santosh Gujrathi to clinch the title. This victory gave him an automatic invitation to the Dortmund Sparkassen Chess Meeting, a super-tournament typically featuring some of the world's highest ranked players. He competed in the European Individual Chess Championship in late 2020.
