Jaime Sunye Neto is a Brazilian chess player who has been honoured with the title of International Grandmaster. He was born on July 21, 1957 in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. Neto won the Brazilian Chess Championship six times and received the grandmaster title from FIDE in 1986. He went on to represent Brazil in numerous Chess Olympiads. He was also part of the Brazilian team which won the silver medal at the World Team Chess Championship in 1989.


As a coach, Neto has had the opportunity to train several prestigious institutions such as the Universidad de Los Andes and Texas Tech University. He is also the author of the chess book, "The Missing Arsenal." Aside from his chess career, Neto has a PhD in Economics from Universidade Federal do Paraná and worked as a professor at FGV-EAESP.
