Rasmus Svane is a Danish-German chess grandmaster. He was born on November 21, 1997, in Denmark but moved to Germany where he started playing chess at a very young age. In 2005, he became the youngest winner of a Danish youth championship. He later went on to win two additional youth championships. By 2007, he was already participating in national and international championships.


After moving to Germany, Svane connected with a Hamburg chess club, where he further refined his skills. He played in several successful national and international matches, earning a reputation for his talent in the game. Svane achieved the Fide Master (FM) title in 2008 and the International Master (IM) title in 2010.


In 2011, Svane won the German U25 championship and a year later, he earned his first grandmaster norm at the "Politiken Cup" in Denmark. Svane achieved his final grandmaster norm at the age of 18, in 2016. He represented Germany at the Chess Olympiad in 2016 and helped his team secure a top-10 ranking. Svane has also competed in the European Team Chess Championship and the Mitropa Cup.


Outside of competitive chess, Svane studies industrial engineering. He continues to be recognized as an elite talent in the global chess community.
