Mishra Swayams is an Indian chess Grandmaster who was born in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on February 15, 1993. Swayams achieved his International Master title by the Federation Internationale des Echecs or World Chess Federation (FIDE) in 2010. He was awarded the Grandmaster title in July, 2017 by FIDE. This made him the third chess Grandmaster from Odisha, and the 50th from India.
Swayams has won various state, national and international titles. His notable achievements include being the first Odia chess player to win the Indian National Challengers Chess Championship in 2016, the Gold medal in Commonwealth Chess Championship under-18 category, and Bronze in under-20 in the same year of 2010. He also became the Bronze medal winner in the Asian Junior Chess Championship under-20 category held at Tashkent in 2011.
In addition to playing, Swayams also does coaching sessions and chess lessons worldwide.
