Vladislav Tkachiev is a French-Russian chess grandmaster who won multiple championships in his career such as the 2007 European Championship and the 2008 ACP World Rapid Cup. Born on November 9, 1973, in Moscow, Tkachiev started to show an excellent chess career at a young age. He achieved the International Master title in 1993 and became a grandmaster two years later. In addition to his successes, Tkachiev has also become known for some controversies, including one event in 2009 when he appeared intoxicated and fell asleep during a match.
