Leonardo Tristán is an Argentine chess Grandmaster and doctor. Born in 1980, he became a Grandmaster in 2007. He won the 2008 Argentine Chess Championship, the 2010 Pan American Chess Championship and the 2016 American Continental Chess Championship, qualifying him for the Chess World Cup 2017. His notable games include wins against Ruben Felgaer and Jose Fernando Cubas.


Tristán is also the founder of Asociación Civil de Actividades Deportivas y Recreativas (ACADER), a sports and recreation association. There, he sets out to "empower people through sports, aiming to develop and improve logic, strategic thought, memory and concentration". He graduated as a doctor at the Favaloro University in Buenos Aires in 2017.
