GM Artem Uskov
Chess Master Biography
Chess Master Biography
Artem Uskov is a Russian chess grandmaster, born on March 23, 2010. He qualified for the International Master title in December 2022 at 12 years and 9 months - at the time the youngest Russian ever to do so - shortly after winning the under-12 open section of the 2022 FIDE World Cadet Championship.
At the 2022 World Rapid Championship he was at the centre of one of the event's strangest episodes, when a mis-placed capture against Vladislav Kovalev in a time scramble had to be replayed with a single second on his clock. The Grandmaster title followed in 2025, before his sixteenth birthday.
