Jakhongir Vakhidov is an esteemed Uzbekistani chess player known for his impressive grandmaster (GM) status. Born in March 1995, Vakhidov began his professional career at a young age and achieved his GM status by 2012.
Vakhidov's skills first gained global recognition when he performed well in several international tournaments. His initial notable victories include becoming the World U10 Champion in France (2005) and later winning the Asian U12 Championship in Iran (2007). Vakhidov also previously held the title of Asian Youth U14 Champion before he advanced to compete in adult tournaments.
In 2017, Vakhidov joined the World Chess Federation (FIDE) and succeeded in multiple international championships. After joining the FIDE, he made a name for himself in the Federation by gaining victories in tournaments such as the Chennai Open in India and the HD Bank Cup in Vietnam.
