Alessio Valsecchi is an Italian chess Grandmaster born on April 6, 1995, in Monza, Italy. He earned the title of International Master in 2012 and became a Grandmaster in 2020.
Valsecchi started playing chess at the age of nine and took part in his first tournament when he was ten years old. He initially came into prominence in the chess community in 2006 when he won the U12 Italian championship.
Throughout his career, he has notched several achievements including being the Italian Junior Champion in 2011, the winner of the 38th "E. Crespi Trophy" tournament in 2014, and the Champion of Lombardy in 2010, 2011, and 2013.
Notably, he won the 2020 Italian Championship – becoming the Champion of Italy.
