GM Lucas Van Foreest

Lucas van Foreest is a Dutch Chess Grandmaster (GM), born on 3rd March 2001 in Groningen. Van Foreest comes from a historically renowned family of chess players and his brother Jorden Van Foreest is also a GM. Lucas got his International Master title in 2017 and his GM title in 2018, becoming the youngest Dutch GM at the time. He participated in several important tournaments such as the Tata Steel Chess Tournament. He has had successes in online play as well, performing well during the COVID-19 pandemic, and became the national champion of the Netherlands in 2019. He represented his country in various junior and senior tournaments throughout years, particularly underlining his merit in 2019 and 2020.
