Andrei Volokitin is a Ukrainian chess grandmaster. He was born on June 18, 1986 in Ukraine and won the World Youth Chess Championship in 1996. He became an International Master in 2004 and a Grandmaster the following year. He has competed in numerous tournaments, including the Chess World Cup in 2005, where he made it to the third round, and the Corus tournament in 2008, where he came in second place.
Volokitin has played for Ukraine in the Chess Olympiads five times, helping the team secure gold in 2004, and silver and bronze in other years. In the 2004 FIDE World Cup he made it to the third round and was consequently eliminated.
Aside from competing, Volokitin served as a second (chess assistant) to chess grandmaster Sergey Kalrajn and also worked with Magnus Carlsen, former World Chess Champion, in 2014.
