Alexander Volzhin (born June 22, 1971) is a Russian chess player and International Grandmaster. He made significant contributions to chess and has participated in several chess championships yielding impressive results. Volzhin was awarded the International Master (IM) title in 1993 and the Grandmaster (GM) title in 1997. He qualified for the 1999 FIDE World Chess Championship and won the 2002 Aeroflot Open. His chess career has seen him compete with some of the world's most top-ranked players where he demonstrated exceptional skills, techniques and strategies.
