Tomasz Warakomski is a Polish chess Grandmaster. He was born on February 7, 1989, in Gdańsk, Poland. Warakomski had an early start in his career, as he won the Polish youth championships in 2000, 2003 and 2005 in different age categories.


His international success began in 2004 when he tied for 1st in the European U16 Championship. In 2006, he won the Jurmala Riga Tech Open in Latvia, propelling him to the title of International Master, which he received the same year. In 2007, he achieved his greatest success by becoming the European U18 Champion.


Warakomski obtained the prestigious title of Grandmaster in October 2009. He continued to excel in his career by winning or sharing 1st prize in multiple tournaments, namely the MetLife Amplico AIG Life in Warsaw (twice, in 2007 and 2009), the Najdorf Memorial in Warsaw (2008 and 2011), the Vasylyshyn Memorial in Lviv (2011), and the Barcelona tournament in 2012.


Warakomski is also a member of the Polish national team. He represented Poland in the World U16 Championship in 2005, and the World U18 Team Chess Championship three times from 2007 to 2010. His most notable achievement with the Polish national team was winning the silver medal in the European Team Chess Championship in 2010.
