Wen Yang is a Chinese chess Grandmaster who achieved the title in 2005. Wen was born on July 6, 1988 in Sichuan, China. Apart from being a Grandmaster, he is known for his other prominent achievements in the chess world. Some of them include coming second at the Chinese Chess Championship in 2006 and tying for the first place, but finishing second after tiebreak, in the 2007 China National Chess King Match tournament.
In 2010, Wen held the 4th position at the 10th Asian Individual Chess Championship. He also had a huge achievement at the 37th Chess Olympiad in 2006 where he earned the bronze medal. He won individual bronze at the World Team Chess Championship in 2015 and also represented China in the World Team Chess Championships. Wen also participated in the FIDE World Cup in 2007 but was eliminated in the second round by Kiril Georgiev.
