Simon K. Williams is an English chess grandmaster, author, and DVD presenter, born on 30 November 1979. He gained his International Master title in 1998 and his Grandmaster title in 2008. Williams is best known for his aggressive and unorthodox style of play, especially for his use of the Dutch Defence and the King's Gambit.


He has written several books on chess, focusing mainly on opening play. "Play the Classical Dutch" and "The New Sicilian Dragon" are among his best-known works. He also works as a chess coach where he teaches Dickson College students and has acted as a second for fellow UK Grandmaster Gawain Jones. He has also produced multiple DVDs on various chess topics for an online chess shop.
