In terms of achievements, Yegiazarian was a two-time Champion of the Armenian SSR in 1988 and 1989. He also won the Armenian Championships in 1997 and 2002. Internationally, he won the Anzali Middle East Championship in 2000, and the Nakhichevan Open in 2004 & 2007. Additionally, Yegiazarian participated in the FIDE World Chess Championship in 2002 and 2004, reaching the second round on both occasions.
He later became a chess coach and was part of the training team for the Armenian men's team that won the Chess Olympiad in 2008, 2012, and 2016. At the time of his death in 2020 at the age of 50, he was the national coach for the Armenian junior team.
