Yeoh Li Tian is a Malaysian chess grandmaster, born on October 16, 1999 - the first player in Malaysia's history to earn the title. A two-time national champion in 2015 and 2016, he won the FIDE Zone 3.3 Championship in 2017, which brought the International Master title, a first-ever Grandmaster norm for a Malaysian, and a World Cup debut where he faced former world champion Viswanathan Anand in the first round.
At the 2019 Southeast Asian Games he delivered Malaysia's first rapid chess gold. The Grandmaster title itself, completed in 2025, closed a pioneering chapter for Malaysian chess.
