Osvaldo Zambrana is a Bolivian chess Grandmaster who was born on October 7, 1980. He became a Grandmaster, the highest title a chess player can attain, in 2007. He has participated in several Chess Olympiads, representing Bolivia.
He has numerous career highlights, including winning the national Bolivian Chess Championship eight times and achieving a draw with chess legend, Garry Kasparov, in 1996.
In the 38th Chess Olympiad in 2008, he was Bolivia's top player. Zambrana also won the American Continental Chess Championship in 2007 which qualified him for the Chess World Cup 2007, although he was eliminated in the first round.
