Robert Zelčić is a Croatian chess player who was awarded the title of Grandmaster (GM) by FIDE, the international chess federation, in 1989. He was born on November 27, 1965, in Zagreb, Croatia.
Zelčić competed for Croatia in the Chess Olympiad, an international team chess competition, a total of six times between 1992 and 2004. He won team silver in the 1996 event and individual bronze in the 1992 event. He also competed in the European Team Chess Championships for Croatia five times between 1992 and 2003.
Zelčić's career is marked by several significant victories. He won the Croatian Chess Championship in both 2000 and 2005. Other individual victories include the Open Internacional de Sants, Hostafrancs i la Bordeta in Barcelona in 2003, and the Pula Open in 2006 and 2009.
