Andrey Zontakh is a Ukrainian chess Grandmaster. Born in 1970 in Zhdanov, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union, Zontakh currently works as a chess coach. His notable achievements include winning the Ukrainian Chess Championship in 1990 and achieving the highest ranking of 55th in the world in 2000. He was awarded the Grandmaster title in 1994 by the World Chess Organization. Zontakh's training approach combines classical teaching methods and innovative computer technology. He trained David Navara, Ivan Cheparinov, Natalia Zhukova, Evgeniy Najer, and Juraj Druska. Zontakh started playing chess at the age of four and has trained under renowned coaches such as Lev Polugaevsky and Mark Taimanov.
