Alexander Zubarev is a Ukrainian chess player who was awarded the title of Grandmaster in 2005. He was born on May 4, 1979 in Ukraine. He has participated in various chess championships throughout his career, gaining recognition in the competitive chess world.
In 2002, Zubarev became the under-18 World Champion. He has played in several Chess Olympiads, representing Ukraine for the first time in 2006. The Ukrainian national team, with Zubarev, won a silver medal in 2010 after which he achieved the International Master title.
Zubarev’s notable performances include winning the international tournament in Pardubice in 2005. In 2010, he came in first place at the International Chess Tournament in Vlissingen, and in 2014, he won the Ciutat de Barcelona tournament.
