Bio
Peter, a history teacher in Košice, Slovakia.
I have enjoyed chess since childhood, but I didn’t have the opportunity to join a chess club as there wasn’t one nearby. It wasn’t until after my university studies that I started playing chess with a colleague during our beer meetups.
I’ve never focused on chess theory or history, and I have a strong dislike for studying openings—I’ve even given up on trying to memorize them (so feel free to take advantage of that in our games! 😊). I play purely for fun, and that’s when I enjoy it the most.
I particularly enjoy playing against gentlemen, and I’ve met many wonderful opponents here on this platform.
I play by the rules—no assistance from chess engines, not even for openings. I claim time-out wins unless you inform me that you need extra time, and I encourage you to do the same in our games. It’s all to keep this beautiful game as authentic as possible.
