I live near Manchester, England but I am originally from Liverpool. I have had a long lay off from chess (which i was never really that good at) so it now means that I am virtually starting over again. I am now 73 and retired from practising law so I have a bit more time to play online. I play for fun only. Occasionally I can play ok but often I make the worst blunders. Some people take the game much more seriously than I do but I always try my best even when its not going well. I like to play those people who are gracious both in victory and defeat but not those who want to win at all costs simply to improve their rating even if it includes using underhand means. (You know who you are), People like that do nothing to enhance the enjoyment the rest of us get from playing the game fairly. However, I will take skulls in competitive games as the time limit is part of the game.
As well as playing chess I like to draw and paint. I also read a lot of books. I like to play classical/jazz guitar and I am learning to play piano. I support Liverpool F.C, 6 times champions of Europe. I speak a little French and am trying to learn some Spanish and German. I am also addicted to some playstation games and I like most types of music. The Beatles are the best ever.
I like to chat as well as play but I know some people dont. I never object to people emailing during a game and I hope to meet some new people and make new friends while we play. Anyway, enough about me. Let's play! Bon chance y buenas suertes!
