BCF

BCF is the abbreviation for the British Chess Federation, the former governing body for chess in England. It was renamed the English Chess Federation (ECF) in 2005. The BCF administered its own grading system (the BCF grading system), which differed from the Elo rating system used by FIDE. BCF grades were converted to Elo-equivalent ratings when the ECF adopted the international system.
