Chess Terms : Bind Explained
A bind is a position in which one player exerts a strong grip or stranglehold on the opponent's position, severely restricting the opponent's options and piece mobility. A bind typically involves dominant control of key central squares and the prevention of freeing pawn breaks. The Maróczy Bind—characterised by White pawns on c4 and e4 against Black's Sicilian structure—is one of the most well-known examples.
