Chess Blindness

Chess blindness is the failure to see an obvious move, threat, or tactical possibility that would normally be readily apparent. It can afflict players of any strength—even world-class grandmasters have been known to overlook simple one-move threats. Chess blindness is often caused by psychological factors such as fixation on a particular plan, time pressure, or fatigue.
