Chess960

Chess960, also known as Fischer Random Chess, is a variant of chess invented and promoted by former world champion Bobby Fischer. The name 960 stems from the game starting with one of the 960 possible initial positions, which are randomly set up. The major difference in Chess960 is the starting position of the pieces on the players' home rank, with the king always being between the rooks, and bishops always on opposite-color squares. The goal and basic rules of the game remain the same as in traditional chess.
