Correspondence Chess is a form of chess competition where opponents play games without needing to be in the same geographic location. This is accomplished through various channels of communication such as mail, email, or chess servers. Players can also take several days, weeks or even months to consider their moves. It has different rules and strategies compared to standard chess, specifically allowing players ample time to thoroughly analyze the positions.
