Elo Rating System

The Elo rating system is a method for calculating the relative skill levels of players in competitive games such as chess. Named after its creator, Arpad Elo, the system assigns players ratings based on their performance against other players. The difference in ratings between two players predicts the outcome of a match - a higher-rated player is expected to win more frequently against a lower-rated player. The system dynamically adjusts a player's rating after each game depending on the result of the game and the rating of the opponent.
