What is FIDE Master?

FIDE Master

FIDE Master is an international chess title granted by the Fédération Internationale des Échecs (FIDE), the international chess governing body. It is ranked below International Master and Grandmaster, but above Candidate Master. To be granted this title, a player must have an Elo rating of at least 2300 at one point during their career. FIDE Masters can use the title for life, except in cases of cheating or other infractions of chess rules.
