FIDE Rating

A FIDE rating is a numerical measure of a player's strength calculated using the Elo rating system and maintained by FIDE. FIDE ratings are published monthly and are the international standard for comparing player strength. The highest FIDE rating ever achieved was 2882 by Magnus Carlsen.
