Chess Terms : Loss Explained

Loss

loss refers to the outcome of a game where one player is checkmated or resigns, thereby leading to their defeat. It may also occur if a player exceeds the time limit in timed games, violates the rules, or in competitions, if a player withdraws or is disqualified. A loss results in a score of zero points for the losing player in the tournament standings.
