Chess Terms : Occupation Explained

Occupation

Occupation in chess refers to the control of vital squares on a chess board by a player's pieces, creating an advantageous position and limiting the movement of the opponent's pieces. This control can be direct (by placing pieces on these squares) or indirect (by threatening to capture any enemy piece that moves onto them).
