Chess Terms : Passive Explained

Passive

The term Passive refers to a piece or position that has limited mobility or influence on the game. Passive pieces are often unable to attack or defend effectively, while a passive position typically indicates a defensive or reactionary stance, as opposed to an aggressive or proactive one. These scenarios most often arise due to poor strategic planning or forced positioning by the opponent.
