Chess Terms : Pin Explained

Pin

A Pin is a tactical maneuver in chess where a piece is held in place by an attacking piece, as moving the pinned piece would directly expose a more valuable piece to capture. The attacked piece cannot move without exposing the more valuable piece to the opponent. This situation forces the player to make defensive moves, and limits their options.
