Positional Sacrifice

A positional sacrifice in chess is a strategy in which a player intentionally gives up material, usually a pawn or a minor piece, not with the objective of immediate tactical advantage, but to secure a positional advantage. This could mean gaining more control over certain squares, clearing lines for their pieces, disrupting the coordination of the opponent's pieces, or improving their pawn structure, among other strategic benefits.
